Intro to Section 3

This final section contains a few more thoughts and interpretations although I’ve kept away from anything that others can share or teach better, just mentioning here some topics which we’re very unlikely to stumble across unless we specifically know what we are looking for.

If you’re wondering what my motive is with all this, it’s that I consider it to currently be my best way of serving my brothers and sisters. I see so much deception going on in church and there’s a desperate need for solid doctrine to be re-introduced, as well as preachers to then deliver this.

As for my aim here, I’m trying to reach and stir potential preachers who can then use their gifting and deliver these messages in a much more articulate and loving manner. But with regard to the somewhat confrontational style of some of the content on this site, please consider this. Throughout the centuries, Jews have sought to encounter the truths of scripture through discussion and debate, by one posing a proposition and then another arguing back in counter-proposition, through the adding of additional scripture passages into the argument, in a process of refining, sharpening, and clarifying the intent of the initial scripture text. This is still the way that faithful Jews engage with scripture. To us polite, constrained Westerners, it seems like an unruly mess, and indeed, I have been called troublemaker when I challenge people’s beliefs, both in the past when it was merely intuition and more recently when I have used the a persons unseen true Old Testament context to highlight an error in their judgement of a passage in the New Testament. Nowadays though I just tend to get ignored as we all get evermore conditioned to this cancel culture and ‘must not offend anyone’ society we now live in. To Jews though, schooled in this process since their early years, it is natural, and results in deep and profound understandings of scripture.
In my search for truth, this is what I’m doing with my own studies. I’m being both the proposer and counter proposer with everything that I discover before it makes its way into my belief system. And, as time went on I discovered that, incredibly, I had to go back to the very very beginning because so many basic biblical beliefs we have all taken for granted just don’t stand up to biblical scrutiny once we start to investigate below the surface level that most Christians remain at today.
Sadly too, I find that so many guys just won’t engage in this, a kind of scripture interprets scripture method of interpretation. I conclude this can only be because rather than seek truth, these people seek some form of belief that protects their position, or their comfort zone for example.

Some would call this idolatry – making up a God to suit one’s own beliefs.

“If you won’t pay the price to accept the real God, you’ll make Him in your own safe image” – Maurice Barratt

Let’s all let the Spirit search our hearts and keep ourselves teachable. If we believe something it must stand up to biblical scrutiny, that means every single passage. Please do challenge me if you see any major biblical error in this section, although a good part of the content in section three was written many years before I even thought of doing or had the confidence to do this website and I can already see I will be tweaking some of it over the coming months or years as the consequences of progressive illumination already necessitate the change of some of the minor points of interpretation. However, I’m still happy with all the main points made in all the articles.
