This final section contains a few more thoughts and interpretations although I’ve kept away from anything that others can share or teach better, just mentioning here some topics which we’re very unlikely to stumble across unless we specifically know what we are looking for.
If you’re wondering what my motive is with this site well there’s several, not least of which is personal use – it’s a good way to store all the hard earned fruit from my extended study time and because these issues unfortunately don’t crop up in daily conversation it’s so very easy for me even as the author to quickly forget the detail. I read through this site regularly myself to try and stay sharp and keep myself focused. Also, since I left organised church a decade ago this is currently what I consider my best way of serving my brothers and sisters. I see so much deception going on in church and there’s a desperate need for solid doctrine to be re-introduced, as well as preachers to then deliver this. I was recently encouraged by discovering the well known A W Pink left the church system for the last two decades of his life, holding a very dim view of the professing church, believing it to be heavily infiltrated by a “spirit of antichrist” and rapidly falling into apostasy. I am now convinced that if any person is truly pushing forward in their walk of faith there will come a point in time when he/she will either be forced out of church or inevitably leave from sheer frustration.
Let’s all let the Spirit search our hearts and keep ourselves teachable. If we believe something to be true it must stand up to biblical scrutiny, and that means every single passage. We can’t ignore passages we don’t understand or don’t like. And let’s remember this too, that…
“If you won’t pay the price to accept the real God, you’ll make Him in your own safe image” – Maurice Barratt
…and that’s idolatry, so let’s always keep searching and remain open and teachable rather than ignore any ongoing discovered truth that may necessitate painful changes to our comfort zones if we are to remain faithful.
Please do challenge me if you see any major Biblical error in this section, although a good part of the content in section three was written many years before I even thought of doing or had the confidence to do this website and I can already see I will be tweaking some of the older articles over the coming months or years as the consequences of progressive illumination already necessitate the change of some of the minor points of interpretation. However, I’m still happy with all the main points made here in all the articles, happy that I’m not consciously before God leading anyone astray.
